Alara Achieves HITRUST Certification, Demonstrating Highest Standards of Data Protection
April 1, 2024 – Alara announces the successful completion of the HITRUST certification. This achievement underscores Alara’s unwavering commitment to data security, privacy, and compliance in medical imaging. HITRUST is a comprehensive certifiable security framework used by organizations that create, access, store, or exchange sensitive information. The HITRUST certification is a rigorous assessment focusing on the implementation of key security controls to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
The assessment encompassed various security domains, including information protection, endpoint protection, access control, risk management, and data protection. “Achieving the HITRUST certification demonstrates our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of information security and privacy,” said Simon Rascovsky, CTO of Alara Imaging. “We are proud to provide our customers with the assurance that their sensitive data is protected by a robust and continuously-monitored security framework.”
The certification process involved a comprehensive evaluation of Alara’s security controls, policies, and procedures by Prescient, an authorized HITRUST assessor. The assessment validated Alara’s adherence to industry-defined requirements and its ability to appropriately manage risk. Alara successfully met all relevant requirements on the first and only HITRUST certification attempt, with no corrective action plans (CAPs), gaps, or non-conformities identified.
Alara serves as steward for newly-regulated radiology patient safety measures on behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
In addition, Alara has announced collaborations with AWS and NVIDIA, aimed at advancing medical imaging innovation and enabling secure, cloud-based solutions for health systems and health tech companies.
